Jonathan Cheszes
President
Jonathan Cheszes has been working in the renewable energy sector in Canada since 2007, with roles in the public sector (Independent Electricity System Operator) and private consulting (Guidehouse and Compass Renewable Energy Consulting Inc.). He has led the development of over 80 MWs of distributed solar, over 300 MW of utility scale solar and over 200 MWhs of battery energy storage across Canada. He has a deep understanding of the integrated issues of energy development, policy and project economics and plays an active role in origination, development, contracting, financing, procurement and asset management.

James Marzotto
Associate Director, Development
James Marzotto has over 10 years of experience managing and developing renewable energy projects in Canada. He started working in the Ontario solar industry with Moose Power in 2014 and has since held positions with Potentia Renewables and Compass Renewable Energy Consulting. James has lead the early stage development of over 200 MWs of solar and battery energy storage projects and continues to lead early stage engagement with landowners and municipalities.

Scott Gerylo
Senior Director, Engineering & Asset Management
Scott is a seasoned renewable energy professional who has overseen the development, engineering, construction, commissioning, and operation of countless Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESSs) throughout Canada. Mr. Gerylo comes most recently from Aypa Power, a Blackstone Portfolio Company, where he led the Canadian business unit through the development, deployment, and operation of 35+ commercial and industrial behind-the-meter BESS systems. Prior to Aypa, Scott led the Distributed Energy Resource (DER) product and the Design and Engineering teams at Panasonic Eco Solutions, where he was responsible for the design and deployment of dozens of BESS, rooftop, and ground mounted Solar PV systems. He has a strong background in the management of complex projects, engineering design, commissioning, and operations. Scott has overall responsibility for CGDs projects design, construction and operations.

Roberto Caputo, B.Eng, M.Eng
Senior Director, Development
Roberto Caputo is a passionate and results-oriented leader in the renewable energy industry. With over 13 years of experience, Roberto has a proven track record of successfully developing and constructing over 1 GW of renewable energy projects across various scales and complexities, exceeding a value of $1B USD. His expertise spans project development and capital planning, strategic stakeholder management, navigating complex regulatory processes, and ensuring efficient project execution. Roberto has led and mentored large interdisciplinary teams, consistently delivering projects on time and within budget. He holds a M.Eng from the University of Toronto and a Certificate in Construction Law from York University.

Erwin Heuck PEng.
Development Manager, Saskatchewan
A lifelong energy industry professional, Erwin has a deep knowledge and understanding of the Saskatchewan Energy service landscape.
He spent 28 years working for SaskEnergy, ultimately as the Director of the Facility Planning department where he planned and executed on roughly $750 million of growth and revenue sustaining transmission, compression and natural gas storage infrastructure assets.
In 2019, he founded the Distributed Energy Association of Saskatchewan (DEAS) to promote Industry, utility and municipal collaboration in the energy transition to cleaner, smaller-scale and more resilient energy technologies, services and choice.
More recently, he served as the Saskatchewan Director for the Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CanREA), working with government, the utility and other key stakeholders in advocating for wind, solar and battery storage developers and operators.
Erwin supports the Compass Greenfield Development team in their utility scale Solar and Battery Storage initiatives in Saskatchewan.

Pejman Izadkhast, P.Eng.
Manager, Asset Management
Mr. Izadkhast is an experienced solar energy developer with 9 years of experience in North America’s solar industry and over twenty years of experience in the field of renewable energy systems globally. He gained invaluable experience in operation and maintenance management of over fifty solar power plants in Canada and USA and has driven the development of solar projects in Ontario and Eastern States. He has a solid understanding of the design and construction of solar power plants, including fixed and tracker ground mount, rooftop, and carport systems. Mr. Izadkhast managed the construction of CGDs 5.5 MW Saskatchewan solar portfolio and actively manages the operations and performance of CGD’s solar assets.

Guillermo Gutierrez Gonzalez
Development Analyst
Guillermo Gutierrez Gonzalez is a development analyst that supports various activities related to early stage development including site identification and screening as well as community engagement.

Elijah Garrett
Project Manager
Elijah Garrett is an engineering graduate with a passion for the renewable energy industry. He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, specializing in sustainable energy. Since joining the industry in 2022, he has managed the connection of over 23 MWs of distributed solar resources and supported the development and construction of over 185 MWhs of battery energy storage projects under Ontario’s E-LT1 and LT1 procurements. Elijah plays an active role in project planning, development, financing, construction, and commissioning, coordinating the full scope of client and contractor activities to ensure smooth and successful project delivery.

Bhavin Mistry
Senior Manager, Development
Bhavin Mistry is a seasoned Project Manager with over a decade of experience driving complex solar energy projects from conception through execution. Bhavin has played pivotal roles in the development and construction of rooftop, community and utility-scale solar installations across North America.
Previously a Senior Consultant on the Solar Independent Engineering team at DNV, Bhavin leads multi-disciplinary due diligence efforts, and overseeing technical and financial evaluations for large-scale solar projects. Prior to this, he spearheaded the development of utility and community solar farms at Liberty/Algonquin Power, where he managed projects valued up to $300M and assisted with acquisition due diligence across multiple U.S. markets.
Bhavin’s extensive EPC experience, notably at GP JOULE PV Canada, showcases his ability to manage complex project along with manufacturing process of both fixed and tracker racking systems.
Known for his collaborative approach, Bhavin builds strong relationships with clients, contractors, and government bodies, ensuring project goals align with community and stakeholder expectations.

Vicky Su
Controller
Vicky Su is a CPA with over 12 years of experience in public accounting and project accounting. Vicky worked in various accounting firms and gained valuable experience with exposed to a wide range of corporate clients from different industries. She got her CPA designation while she worked at the firm level. When she moved to corporate, with solid knowledge of auditing and internal control, she has assisted her company finance team to provide timely financial reporting and achieve internal efficiency improvements. She has a deep understanding of the accounting principles and plays an active role in running the finance team efficiently and implementing proper process and control for record keeping.
