In June 2026, Compass Greenfield Development joined representatives from the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation for an Aki (land) Ceremony at the site of the Golden Leaf Agrivoltaics Project in Drummond/North Elmsley. Golden Leaf is a proposed agrivoltaics project being developed by Golden Leaf Agrivoltaics Inc., a partnership between the Algonquins of Pikwakanagan First Nation and Compass Greenfield Development. The Golden Leaf, Elmbrook, and Cedar Agrivoltaics projects will contribute new emissions-free electricity to Ontario’s growing power system at a time when demand is expected to rise significantly. With these milestones, CGD has now brought both the first E-LT1 BESS project and the first LT-1 BESS project from contract award through to commercial operation.
